Peter Dakin (“Jobgym”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Jobgym platform, including the website, browser extension, and related services.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.

We collect the following types of information:

Account & profile information

• Name, email address, password -Professional profile details you choose to provide (work history, skills, education, etc.)

Job and career content

• CVs, resumes, cover letters, and other documents you upload or create
• Job advertisements you paste, send via the browser extension, or otherwise provide
• Notes, preferences, and application tracking data you enter

Usage and technical information

• Log data, device and browser information, IP address
• How you interact with the platform (features used, pages viewed, etc.)
• Limited diagnostic and error data from the browser extension

Payment information

If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are processed by our third-party payment provider. We do not store full card details ourselves.

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the Jobgym service (including AI-assisted CV and cover letter generation)
• Associate job advertisements with your account when you use the browser extension
• Communicate with you about your account and the service
• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues
• Analyse usage patterns so we can improve the product
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information or use your CV or job data for advertising purposes.

Jobgym uses artificial intelligence to help generate and refine CVs, cover letters, and related career materials. When you use these features:

• Your uploaded content and the job information you provide are processed by our AI systems (and, where applicable, trusted third-party AI providers under strict contractual terms)
• The output is generated for your use only
• We do not use your personal career content to train publicly available models without your consent

We share information only in these limited situations:

• With service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email, payment processing, AI infrastructure), under contracts that require them to protect your data
• When required by law or to protect our legal rights
• In connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger or sale), subject to appropriate protections

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We store your data on secure servers and use industry-standard measures to protect it, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We retain your account and content for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.

You can delete jobs, documents, or your entire account at any time. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal requirements)
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functionality, security, and to understand how the service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Your information may be processed in New Zealand or in other countries where our service providers operate. Where data is transferred overseas, we take steps to ensure it receives appropriate protection.

Jobgym is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Significant changes will be communicated through the platform or by email where appropriate.
