By creating an account or using Jobgym (the website, browser extension, or related services), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Statement.

If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Jobgym provides tools to help you manage your job search, including:

• Storing and organising job advertisements
• Creating and refining CVs and cover letters (with AI assistance)
• Tracking applications and related career materials

We may update, improve, or change features over time.

You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate account information
• Keeping your login credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 16 years old to use Jobgym.

You retain ownership of the CVs, job information, notes, and other content you upload or create (“Your Content”).

By using Jobgym you grant us a limited licence to host, process, and display Your Content solely as needed to provide the service to you (including AI processing for CV and cover letter generation).

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and use any content you provide.

You agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the platform
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes others’ rights
• Share your account with others or create accounts through automated means
• Use the service in any way that could harm Jobgym or other users

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Jobgym uses artificial intelligence to help generate and refine career documents.

AI-generated content is provided as a tool to assist you. You remain responsible for reviewing, editing, and ensuring the accuracy and suitability of any materials before you use them in applications or elsewhere.

We do not guarantee that AI-generated content will be error-free or produce any particular outcome (such as job interviews or offers).

If you subscribe to a paid plan:

• Fees are charged according to the plan you select
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled
• You can cancel at any time through your account settings; access continues until the end of the current billing period

Refunds are handled in accordance with New Zealand consumer law and our refund policy (if any) at the time of purchase.

• The Jobgym platform, the browser extension, branding, software, and related materials remain the property of Jobgym or our licensors.
• Job advertisements and other third-party content that you send via the extension remain the property of their respective owners. We claim no ownership over that content.
• You retain ownership of any CVs, cover letters, and other materials you create or upload within Jobgym.

Jobgym is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law, we exclude all warranties and are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service.

Our total liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or NZ$100 if you have not paid us anything).

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other non-excludable New Zealand law.

You may stop using Jobgym and delete your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if we need to do so for legal or operational reasons. We will provide notice where reasonable.

1. Licence to use the Browser Extension ("extension")

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the extension solely in connection with a valid Jobgym account and for your own personal use.

You may not:

• resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise distribute the extension as a standalone product;
• reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the extension for the purpose of creating a competing service;
• remove or alter any proprietary notices.

This licence ends automatically if you uninstall the extension or if we terminate your right to use it under these Terms.

2. Account requirement

Core analysis and CV-tailoring features of the extension require a Jobgym account.

When you use the extension to send job data into Jobgym, the full Jobgym website Terms of Service and Privacy Policy continue to apply to that data and to your account.

3. What the Extension does

The Jobgym browser extension is designed to help you send job advertisements into your Jobgym account with one click.

• The extension only reads the content of a job page when you deliberately click “Prepare with Jobgym” (or equivalent).
• It extracts structured job information (such as the job title, description and requirements) and sends that data securely to Jobgym.
• It does not continuously monitor your browsing or extract data from pages you have not chosen to analyse.

4. Acceptable Use

In addition to the general acceptable-use rules that apply to the Jobgym platform, you agree that you will not:

• reverse-engineer the extension or Jobgym APIs for any reason including for the purpose of building a competing product or service;
• abuse, overload, or attempt to circumvent Jobgym APIs or rate limits;
• use the extension or the Jobgym service for any unlawful purpose;
• upload or process content that you do not have the right to use.

We may suspend or terminate access if these rules are breached.

5. Intellectual Property

• The extension, branding, software, and related materials remain the property of Jobgym or our licensors.
• Job advertisements and other third-party content that you send via the extension remain the property of their respective owners. We claim no ownership over that content.
• You retain ownership of any CVs, cover letters, and other materials you create or upload within Jobgym.

6. Disclaimer

The Jobgym service and the extension are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

We do not guarantee that:

• any particular job board’s page structure will remain stable or that extraction will always succeed;
• AI-generated CVs or cover letters will produce any particular hiring outcome;
• the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

You remain responsible for reviewing and editing any materials generated by Jobgym before using them.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law:

• We exclude liability for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of Jobgym or the browser extension.
• Our total aggregate liability to you in connection with the service is limited to the fees you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other non-excludable New Zealand law.

8. Updates and Termination

We may update the extension from time to time (including automatic updates via the browser’s extension store). Continued use of an updated version constitutes acceptance of any related changes to these Terms.

• You may uninstall the extension at any time. Uninstalling ends the local licence to use the extension.
• Your Jobgym account and the associated website Terms continue to apply to any data already stored in your account, even after the extension is uninstalled.
• We may suspend or terminate your access to the extension or the wider service if you breach these Terms or for operational or legal reasons. We will provide notice where reasonable.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify you of significant changes where appropriate.

These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

• Maintain security, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues

We do not sell your personal information or use your CV or job data for advertising purposes.

Jobgym uses artificial intelligence to help generate and refine CVs, cover letters, and related career materials. When you use these features:

• Your uploaded content and the job information you provide are processed by our AI systems (and, where applicable, trusted third-party AI providers under strict contractual terms)
• The output is generated for your use only
• We do not use your personal career content to train publicly available models without your consent

We share information only in these limited situations:

• With service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email, payment processing, AI infrastructure), under contracts that require them to protect your data
• When required by law or to protect our legal rights
• In connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger or sale), subject to appropriate protections

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

We store your data on secure servers and use industry-standard measures to protect it, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls.

While we take reasonable steps to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We retain your account and content for as long as your account remains active, or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations.

You can delete jobs, documents, or your entire account at any time. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it by law.

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal requirements)
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
